24 hours in Budapest - Part I

This post begins at the top of a hill in the middle of the old historic Buda, complete with grand churches, sweeping views of Pest over the Danube, and a dangerously overfull bus that got us here.

Budapest's public transportation doesn't hold a candle to Vienna's so far (or maybe we're just spoiled, I'm not sure). This city is actually full of surprises: for one, I actually find it quite romantic. Lots of big structures, arches, views, the river separating the two cities, with warm weather and a beautiful sunset.

My "date" is my coworker and friend Aqmal from Malaysia. Great guy and super smart. We grabbed dinner at a bistro on the hill. I got my first taste of some authentic Hungarian food - delightful!

Photos of Budapest to follow when they get downloaded off the Nikon. But here's looking forward to a fun and memorable 24 hours in Budapest.
